"Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Macbeth Quote (Act V, Scene V).
"And so the Super Regional Governance Committee of twelve of the best and brightest recedes into the shadows of history, their work product to be consigned to the dungeons of the bureaucratic curator who zealously preserves and protects these costly and ineffective Government studies and reports. Was this a tale told by an idiot, commissioned by a fool and full of sound and fury, signifying nothing?" Anonymous June 1, 2008

Perhaps if the politicians/bureacrabs had read and understood the Minister's initial request instead of jumping to conclusions, they might have realized that she in fact asked them "to design a process for realizing these opportunities", not to waste our tax dollars commenting on one form of governance over another, without an indication of why change is needed and how much it will cost.
It is unfortunate that those enlightened few are functionally illiterate...we voted for them!
The Minister should keep her municipal bias in check, the populations of Kelowna, Vernon, Westside and Penticton combined account for 66% (not 75%) of the total population of the three regional districts.
