The NDP's Health Critic is questioning the Interior Health authority's move to standardize the system for when a hospital is over capacity. Adrian Dix says it sounds like Vernon will follow Kelowna and not call code purples anymore, which means the statistics won't be counted, which he says is pretty shameful. Peter du Toit with Interior Health told us meetings are planned to discuss standardizing the system so overcapacity situations are all treated the same. He wouldn't speculate on whether VJH would stop calling code purples or Kelowna would start.
