Gyula:
I wish to thank you for the personal invitation to attend tonight’s meeting. I would be more than happy to respond to any written questions that may arise out of tonight’s meeting with respect to the Fire Department, but not questions related to the dismissal of Leo Lecavalier. As you are aware, employment matters are dealt with In-Camera by Council, and therefore it would be inappropriate for me to attend a meeting that was called specifically to deal with an employment issue.

Administrators need to understand that they work for taxpayers and they should always be available to answer taxpayers'concerns
Somewhere along the line in the past few years it seems that certain administrators behave as though City business is their private domain and the staff answer only to them!
This attitude is entirely inappropriate and the balance needs to be redressed at the November elections both for Coldstream and Vernon
The issue must be debated and aired during the election campaign
Coldstream seems to have suffered in its recent history some delusional people who seem to believe that the municipality belongs to some more than others!!!
Halloooo- we are in the 21st century and democracy is shared equally by all and protected by the Charter!
It had better be!
An independent audit of administration both in Coldstream and Vernon is a must following the next election and a clearing of deadwood essential
We all know that uncleared dead wood is always a prescription for fire in the forests
Time for a thorough cleanout!

Why should such an audit FOLLOW the election. It should be an election issue. All these people must be held accountable at election time. If the politicians don't feel that there is a problem with their chief civil servants, then they need to be held accountable for the decision to keep them on.
Likewise for all potential candidates. Advise the electorate on whether it will be status quo, or whether you intend to rid the taxpayer of these arrogant fat-cats.
For the rest of you taxpayers out there, remember that these fat-cats make a lot of money and it will cost you a lot of money for the politicians to pull the trigger and run these people off. So be aware before you vote to cost yourselves more money. Weigh the benefit against the risks of allowing them to continue their ways.
Is it time to clean house?
