The widening of a stretch of two-lane highway between Vernon and Armstrong should be announced later this month, according to Okanagan-Shuswap MP Colin Mayes. “We’re working with (provincial Minister of Transportation) Kevin Falcon’s office and we’re trying to line up a day this month to do the announcement,” said Mayes. Mayes said the announcement could happen next week but that’s it’s been hard to get people together. “I’m pretty excited about the announcement,” he said. Spallumcheen Mayor Will Hansma is happy to hear the good news is on its way. “I’m looking forward to the announcement,” he said. “It’s been a long time coming.” Armstrong Mayor Jerry Oglow was similarly pleased. He said the new four-lane stretch, which will be built further up the hillside from the current highway, should improve safety. “We certainly have a troublesome bottleneck right now where the improvements will be done and the changes to the highway will significantly improve safety for the traveling public.”
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
