The District of Lake Country is on the verge of approving mail-in ballots for this fall’s municipal election. Three readings of a new bylaw took place last Tuesday, with a final reading last Thursday morning at a special Council Meeting. Mayor James Baker says recent changes to the Community Charter are allowing this move. He says registered voters in the District of Lake Country who may not be able to be around in November when the municipal election takes place will be able to mail-in their ballots. This is the first time ever the District of Lake Country will have mail-in balloting.
