So they're gonna put a union man in charge of the airport. What happens when the union goes on strike and the airport is behind picket lines?

Good thinking there Mayor and Council.

So they are going to pay a union guy $10,000 more than the manager now, and hire part time real estate manager, part time economic development manager, public works manager, and still contract after hours work. Where is the cost savings? What is the business loss from not having a manager. Who is going to be the "manager" of the certified airport as per Transport Canada regulations. Who is going to make the business decisions? Who is going to maintain the ongoing development at the airport? Who is going to stand up to the GOMs (grumpy old men) at the Flying Club? Who will have the authority to report infractions? It will be interesting for sure.
