B-C Finance Minister Colin Hansen says B-C taxpayers won't have to pay for two million dollars in incorrectly delivered ``climate dividend cheques.'' Hansen admits about 18-thousand people received the cheques, although they were ineligible for the payments. He says the Canada Revenue Agency distributed 3.8 million of the 100-dollar cheques on behalf of the B-C government and the C-R-A is responsible for having the cash returned. The finance minister says letters have been sent to affected recipients asking them to return the dividend and, if they don't, the C-R-A will simply deduct the money from their accounts.
