One Councillor has affirmed he'll be voting against the Official Community Plan when it's up for adoption next month. Barry Beardsell says the document contains a fatal flaw in that council voted not to preserve a Western bypass. Beardsell also listed other flaws in the plan such as zoning issues and that there was no direction for the airport or parks. Councillor Juliette Cunningham says she's very concerned people focused on single issues in the OCP will derail it. Cunningham says while the draft OCP isn't perfect it's still a good document. She's worried the draft OCP will be derailed and not adopted by the Municipal election in November. Beardsell was the only one opposed to the plan for the third reading and was outvoted six to one.Staff is hopeful the OCP can be adopted on October 14th.
