It was a day to reflect on the sacrifices made by those charged with our safety. People gathered Sunday at the RCMP Training Academy in Regina for the annual memorial service for fallen officers.Loralee Moore is from Nashville, and attended the service while in Regina for a conference. She says seeing the dedication of those in attendance was very moving. This past year saw two more RCMP officers killed in the line of duty, bringing the total to 220. Constables Chris Worden and Douglas Scott died in shooting incidents in northern Canada last fall. Scott's father Doug struggled to maintain his composure as he told reporters his son was honoured to serve. Scott says attending the memorial is like a big support group for the families. RCMP Commissioner William Elliott says it's encouraging to see so many loved ones return year after year for the service.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
