Senate Reform in the Works ? Mayes to be elected to Senate ?

Unconfirmed rumours from the Conservative War Room is that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has decided to announce the Reform of the Canadian Senate. His desire to get an equal, elected, and effective Senate will be achieved with a few new wrinkles.

Harper will appoint those Conservative M.P's that suffer the voter's wrath to the Upper Chamber of sober, second thought. This will ensure that these M.P.s who may miss out on a full House of Commons pension if they are defeated, a way to recoup these monetary losses and serve the nation forever. (or until they reach 75 anyways.)

The Prime Minister will state that for those Canadian voters that cast their votes in opposition to his sitting M.P.'s that they will in effect be voting to send those same Conservatives to a far better place; the Senate.

' A vote against sitting Conservatives is a vote for their elevation to the Senate.'

The accompanied photo shows future potential Senators Baird, Flaherty, Bernier and Colin Mayes in training with the Senate's recreational farm team the Ottawa Senators.

If the Canadian people will not allow Harper to surround himself with Cabinet Ministers of this caliber then these same brilliant and cerebral minds will enter the upper house to act as a sounding board for the House of Commons under Conservative majority rule. If in the unlikely case of a Liberal led Government they will be there to obstruct and ensure a dysfunctional Senate and continue to uphold the perceived image of that august body.
