CASTANET
Kelowna City Council is being asked to make amendments to several bylaws to try and control the spread of feral rabbits in the city. The changes, aimed at preventing the current rabbit problem from re-occurring in the future, include:
- prohibiting the feeding of rabbits (or other animals) in parks or public spaces
- Prohibiting the sale or adoption of rabbits that have not been spayed or neutered
- Prohibiting uncontained pet or feral rabbits from occurring on private property
- Requiring property owners to modify or clean up problem breeding sites, e.g. wood piles.
