The Executive Director of Vernon's John Howard House says everyone is just thrilled about the prospect of a brand new building on their current site. Barb Levesque says currently they're in preliminary discussions with the city of Vernon and BC Housing. She says the current shelter in Vernon is leaky and falling apart. Levesque says it is moldy and unsafe for employees and clients.The plan is to tear down the current John Howard house and rebuild with the same capacity for about fifty clients.
