Eleven employees with the City of Penticton will be receiving pink slips as the City slashed nearly $1 million from its budget Thursday. The City is letting go eight managers and three CUPE positions. Some non-unionized personnel are also being let go. Along with the lay-offs, the City is also putting a ban on overtime and eliminating holiday relief. The measures are expected to reduce the budget by about $900,000.

The city of Vernon would do well to take note, as they appear to have continuous ads running to add positions in the newspaper.
