The City of Kelowna's 2007 Annual Financial Report has earned the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for the sixth year in a row. Presented by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, the award recognizes excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting. “This award represents a significant accomplishment by our financial reporting staff,” says Keith Grayston, Financial Services Director. “It demonstrates that we are clearly communicating the City’s financial story to our residents on an ongoing basis.” The Canadian Review Committee judged 2007 Annual Financial Report to meet the high standards of the awards program, which are designed to encourage clarity and full disclosure in government financial communications. Copies of the 2007 Annual Financial Report are available at all Kelowna branches of the Okanagan Regional Library, at City Hall and online. The 2008 Annual Financial Report will be available in June 2009.
