Armed robber loose in Vernon

Vernon RCMP are on the lookout for a man who robbed a gas station at knifepoint.Just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, a man entered the Shell station in the 3800 block of 32nd Street. RCMP spokesperson, Gord Molendyk, says the man, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the till. “He demanded the clerk open the till and get down on the floor, the clerk complied. The suspect then walked around the counter grabbed cash and ran from the store. The male clerk was not physically harmed during this robbery,” says Molendyk. He says the suspect is described as a about six feet tall, 180 lbs, in his 20s to early 30s, with a scruffy blond goatee. “He was wearing a plain grey hoodie, blue jeans and white skateboard style shoes.” The police dog was not able to locate the suspect in the area.
