The Fire Chief for the Okanagan Landing volunteer fire department says he's pleased the city has agreed to defer their decision on service integration. Ed Forslund says the public should know the true costs and implications of the plan and be able to give input. Forslund says while the volunteer department would likely welcome having full time paid employees in the future, there's no need for them at this time. Council voted four to three on Monday to defer the vote on the fire service integration plan until after a public input session. The public input meeting will be scheduled for sometime in April. The date will be set at a special meeting Friday, April 3rd.
