On March 9th several General Duty officers from the Vernon/ North Okanagan detachment executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2700 block of O’Keefe Rd in Vernon. When the police arrived a total of nine people were arrested inside the residence. The search of the residence located powder and crack cocaine that was packaged up for an equivalent of fifty street level transactions. Three rifles and a quantity of cash were also seized. All of the people arrested have been released; two males from Vernon have been released on a Promise to appear and are expected to face charges at a later date, in relation to drug and firearms offences.“This type of crime reduction strategy will continue as it is one of the top priorities in our detachment. It was a priority that has been identified by the community at our annual stake holders meeting said Insp McVarnock”.
