Funtastic tourney sells out

CASTANET:
A waiting list has been created in response to record breaking ticket sales for a north Okanagan event. The Funtastic Slo-Pitch Tournament in Vernon has sold out two weeks ahead of last year. A waiting list is building for both the four and six game spots for teams wanting to attend. Once again, more than 4500 participants will come to Vernon this summer to take part in the tournament. “Funtastic is widely recognized as the slo-pitch tournament to attend,” says Funtastic Executive Director, Jim McEwan. “This reputation has drawn a team from Albuquerque, New Mexico just to attend Funtastic and many teams have made Funtastic a part of their vacation plans for more than 10 years.” He says 425 volunteers continue to provide the level of service to meet that visitor expectation. “In addition to the slo-pitch tournament, Funtastic participants are equalling excited about the excellent music line-up organizers have planned. Opening with Canadian country music star Aaron Pritchett to classic rockers 5440, fans are in for an overall first class entertainment experience.” McEwan says as a special 25th anniversary celebration, Funtastic will open this year with a unique Family Sneak-A-Peak event on Thursday, June 25.Officially, Funtastic will open June 26 and close June 28.
