Rafe Mair endorses NDP candidate Mark Olsen in Vernon Monashee

Sunday, May 3, 2009 NDP MEDIA RELEASE

VERNON — Mark Olsen, the NDP candidate for Vernon Monashee, received a public endorsement from Rafe Mair. Mair says the Liberal energy policy is one in which “no one but industry had a hand in formulating [and] will ruin an ever-increasing number of rivers.” Mair, a former Social Credit environment minister, endorsed Olsen at a public meeting at the Schubert Centre today.

Rafe Mair is concerned that Campbell and the BC Liberals are destroying the publicly-owned utility, BC Hydro, and that they are handing over BC’s water rights to international corporate interests. “This election, for me, boils down to a single issue—the environment and the plans by Campbell to deface and destroy the province I was born in and love and where seven out of my eight grandchildren live.”

Mark Olsen is a school bus driver for School District 22. He is president of the school district's support workers, and a passionate advocate for public education.

I guess if you have been to a brothel you are likely to endorse prostitution.

Rafe after years of ranting and railing against the NDP bankrupt policies of the 90's now aligns himself with the NDP.

This proves the Adaged: The lowest form of Man, is a Pimp, Politician and/or a Priest.

I understand why Rafe would endorse Mark, as a strategic vote for the sole purpose of ousting the Liberals. I find it unfortunate that he's not more in touch with what's happening in our riding. Huguette got more votes than the Liberals or the NDP in the federal election last fall. Green is easily the strategic vote here and while they may not form the government, a Green seat still puts the Libs one seat further from a majority.

Gordon Campbell is a liar. Defined as one who does not tell the truth.
How can we sit by and allow this government to (TRY TO) sell our assets down the river, and introduce the HST, after clearly stating in their election platform that they would not?
Simply put, we are not willing to sit by this time and watch the Railgate, go quietly into that dark night, the HST go unprotested, or simply sit by and accept that our premier is a LIAR. That is not okay with me. I teach my 7 year old to tell the truth, but I can't show him our province's leaders' example of same. What a mess.
