Ecstasy found in teen's purse

Castanet June 1
A teenage girl is going to have a lot of explaining to do after police found ecstasy in her purse. Officers doing a routine foot patrol on Kal beach in Vernon came across a pair of purses around 3 p.m. Friday. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says the purses were found on the dock, next to a large amount of liquor. “The liquor and purses were seized and the officers attempted to locate the owners of the purse. What they discovered when they looked in one of the purses was 40 ecstasy pills,” says Molendyk. He says they learned that the purses were owned by a pair of 16-year-old girls. “The police have been in contact with the families and the file remains open.” Molendyk says police will be doing foot patrols throughout the summer to check for liquor infractions.
