Ministry of Forests firefighters are on the scene of a small forest fire just south of Ellison Park on the east side of Okanagan Lake. Fire information officer, Lindsay Carnes, says the blaze broke out about 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. "We have five firefighters en route to the fire. We have also deployed an air tanker and a bird dog to assess the situation," says Carnes. Witnesses say air tankers are already actioning the fire. Carnes says the fire was originally estimated at under a hectare in size. She says the cause is still under investigation. No homes are threatened by the fire.
