Quick action by fire departments and forestry fire fighters prevented what could have been a very dangerous wildfire. Fire Officials say a brush fire near the Outback Resort on Okanagan Lake in Vernon broke out after four yesterday afternoon in an area above the development. The fire it was not close to homes and fortunately it was moving up hill away from the structures. The Landing Fire Department, City of Vernon and a Forestry ground crew battled the blaze on the ground, while a tanker and helicopter also helped bring the fire under control. The fire was kept to about one hectare in size.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
