A seat on Lumby council is turning out to be a hot ticket. There's now six people running for the councillors position vacated by Kevin Acton who stepped down to run for mayor. Juli Pilon and Karaa-lee Gehring are joined by four others who filed Monday: Woody Kuraoka, Janet Green, Brad Andres and Nick Hodge.Acton remains the lone candidate for mayor with the deadline for candidates on Friday afternoon. The by-election will be held August 15. The resignation of former mayor Eric Foster in May after his election as Vernon Monashee MLA, led to the need for the election.
