It’s with great sadness that we inform the community that Councillor Brian Given lost his courageo
us battle with cancer on Monday, August 17 surrounded by his loving family. Councillor Given wanted it expressed that he was honoured to have served the citizens of Kelowna over the past 10 years. It was his lifetime ambition to make a difference. While Councillor Given was unable to respond to all the messages of support he has received over the past few weeks he read each and every one of them. The notes of kindness gave Councillor Given and his family strength during his final days. Flags will be flown at half mast at all City facilities until after the celebration of life. The celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday August 22 at Trinity Baptist Church.
