The Official Opposition is pointing fingers at the Campbell government over a growing shortfall that they say will lead to cancellations of elective surgeries.Adrian Dix says an interview with IHA Chief Operating Officer Andrew Neuner unearthed new news that the budget shortfall is larger than originally expected."The Interior Health Authority, when Mr. Ramsden acknowledged there would be a defecit at the beginning of June, a significant defecit of 20 million dollars at the time, the defecit has now become 40 million."Neuner reportedly made the announcement on a Kamloops station last week.Dix says the Campbell government campaigned on the promise to not cut patient services, and had the public known differently the outcome of the election may have been different.
