Jumping out of an airplane sounds scary enough, but imagine falling right in the path of an oncoming Boeing 737. According to a flight report, that was the scenario over Vernon on Sunday involving a WestJet flight carrying over one hundred passengers from Edmonton to Kelowna.Air Traffic control advised the pilot of a Cessna 182 that the Westjet flight was on its way, the pilot said he'd delay dropping the parachutist until Westjet had passed. However when Westjet began its descent to Kelowna the Cessna pilot relayed he'd dropped a parachutist and was now descending...right into the path of the Boeing 737.Westjet was able to turn left to avoid a falling parachutist in it's path; it then continued on to Kelowna for a safe landing.
