Get in Line

Starlee Speers - Vernon 105.7 KISSFM:
The City of Vernon is bracing for a barrage of money requests from non-profit and community organizations following a reduction or loss in Provincial funding. Provincial funding cuts are making it difficult for non-profit groups to continue their work in Vernon.Already on Monday, council received two requests for funding from the Teen Junction Youth Centre and the Kalamalka Highlanders. Councillor Buffy Baumbrough expects many more requests.

The Junction Youth Centre needs a forty thousand dollar grant from the city or it may be forced to close at the end of October. The Kalamalka Highlanders are looking for financial support for rent payments and help with buying uniforms.
