You won't be allowed to bet five bucks on the five-ring circus. B.C. Lottery Corporation told 24 hours in a Monday statement that it "is not permitted to offer gaming products that would allow consumers to wager on the outcomes" of the 2010 Winter Olympics or Paralympics. The provincial gambling monopoly is citing its marketing and licensing agreement with VANOC. The prohibition does not affect SportsAction betting on other sports. On Sunday, the International Olympic Committee said it would monitor international betting patterns to prevent match-fixing and ban athletes and accredited people from sports gambling at the Games.
