Canada's taxpayers will pay for an Airbus plane to usher Prince Charles and Camilla across the country during their 11-day royal visit next month, the U.K. Press Association reports. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are due to tour 12 cities in four provinces including Montreal, Toronto and Victoria from Nov. 2 to 12, in what will be Charles's 16th official visit to Canada. The Canadian government has agreed to foot the bill for the chartered military transport to fly the royal couple to and from the U.K., as well as on stops across the country. The Press Association said the jet will also be used for "military purposes" on its flight to pick up the royals and on its return to Canada after the junket. Security costs during the trip, however, will be paid for by the British government, as Charles and Camilla will be escorted around by a phalanx of royal protection officers.

The official journey, a celebration of Canada's military and its history, is the first for Camilla Parker-Bowles since Charles remarried in 2005 following the death of Princess Diana.Earlier this year, it was announced that Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, will visit Canada in 2010.
