Open House - Regional Compost Facility
Vernon City Hall, Okanagan Lake Room
The public is invited to an open house to review upgrade plans to the Regional Compost Facility. The City of Kelowna and the City of Vernon intend to increase capacity of the site at 551 Commonage Road to 36,400 tonnes per year and conduct necessary upgrades to address odours. Come review the plans. Ministry of Environment and City staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Better Late than Never:
To adequately address odour concerns while meeting product demands, the City intends to construct upgrades to the Regional Compost Facility. Any person who may be adversely affected by this proposal and wishes to provide relevant information may, by October 9, 2009, send their written comments to the Office of the City Clerk (1435 Water Street, Kelowna BC V1Y 1J4) with a copy to the Director of Environmental Protection, 102 Industrial Place, Penticton, BC V2A 7C8.
