Some North Okanagan Regional District policies will have their salaries scrutinized. A review of remuneration for electoral area directors has been approved for 2010, and the process will be conducted by three members of the public. “Someone else can decide if elected officials are being treated fairly,” said Eugene Foisy, Cherryville director. If any changes to remuneration occur, they will be initiated after the November 2011 election. “It will be for the next board and we won’t be voting on something for us,” said Foisy. It’s possible the three-person review committee could include a former politician, a former bureaucrat and a resident at large, but details have not been confirmed yet.
