The bigger picture was firmly placed in the minds of the roughly 75 people who gathered Saturday night in downtown Kelowna for a rally to demand real action on climate change. Co-ordinated with some 2,000 similar events around the globe, the local candle-lit rally was also planned to coincide with the UN Climate Change Conference underway in Copenhagen.Those gathered for the short rally and walk around the downtown core were there to lend their voices to the international chorus calling for a commitment to counteract climate change. It’s doubtful the small crowd’s collective voice was heard all the way in Denmark, but it was important to try. (more)
