UBCM 1988 Resolution:
At the last Council Meeting, Tolko in their presentation to Council suggested a tax relief program along these lines.
In 1988 Vernon sponsored a resolution to extend an existing program that allowed tax relief for industry during downturns in the economy. Although passed by UBCM it was rejected by the Provincial Govt. as not required during the "strong economy of today".
It did however say: "such incentives are not required until an economic downturn occurs."
