To simply say that the Vernon Citizens on Patrol Unit are an asset to our community would be an understatement. This group of 43 dedicated volunteers, over the past year alone has recovered 48 stolen vehicles within their patrol area beating their mark of 37recovered last year. The group was hoping to recover 50 for the year and with two weeks left it is possible. They have assisted in discovering break and enters to businesses, one even lead to a grow operation being discovered. Earlier this year they assisted with a suicidal person in a vehicle their actions likely saved the person’s life. The COP’s have donated 2,700 hrs as well as driven 23952 kms over the past year, 28094 license plates were also checked during this time period the local communities Vernon and Coldstream as well as in the Regional Districts locally have all benefited from their generous donation on time and commitment to the program.

This group has been assisting the Vernon Safe communities Unit for the past 17 years. They also assist with events like the July first fireworks, Balloon Glow, the Vernon Winter Carnival, Coldstream Days just to name a few.
