Coldstream's budget is in discussion again. Mayor Jim Garlick says there are a number of issues. He tells Kiss FM, "Everything from the BC Assessment changing the classification of the O-I glass plant in Lavington from heavy industry to light industry and the impact that had on Coldstream. That was another $100,000 in tax (revenue) decrease." Garlick says they're also looking at new requirements from the province on how they do the budget which adds costs. They've managed to whittle a 14 percent increase down to 5.6 percent while keeping the same level of service. There will be a public information session at the municipal hall from 6 to 9pm February 17.
