- Lost Municipal Tax revenue on a $1,400,000 business property ($700,000 land - $700,000 improvements) =$10,694 in 2009 . ( 2010 will be $10,929 =2.02% increase)
- School Tax Revenue lost in 2009 will be $9,730 while Regional District will give up $3,808.

This is the most absurd and irresponsible expenditure of taxpayers money yet.The mayor and concillors will have to accont for their actions come election time.They should still vote no to anymore expenditures on this project or be found responsible.
Sell the valuable commercial prop.
Purchase residential properties along Vernon Creek to create a greenbelt/recreational corridor as funds and properties become available.
Invite senior levels of government to participate in the purchase and rehabilition of riparian areas.
Bonus:
SHORT-TERM to the taxpayer and environment
LONG-TERM to facilitate the creation of a vehicle free corridor linking the Landing, Vernon and Coldstream.
