DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)

Mission Sees Demand Hike;Seeks Donations
A non profit Vernon social agency is in need of food donations after seeing demand for its services shoot up. Chuck Harper, executive director of the Upper Room Mission says they been serving 250 meals a day to needy residents, up 50 from a couple weeks ago. "That's more of a demand on our cooks, our supplies and our resources." He says the main reason is the economy. "People have been laid off, or the jobs they have are not meeting their needs, so we're getting more working poor, more people who are unemployed. We're starting to see an increase in seniors and single parents." Harper says most of their clients have housing, but don't have enough to "make ends meet." The facility needs donations of staple food items like rice, oats, tea and coffee (preferably commercial sized bags), along with canned goods like tomatoes, beans, soups and spaghetti sauce, and any produce. They also need sugar and butter (preferably in packets to control usage and portions), paper, Styrofoam cups and plates, and any cash donations. The items can be dropped at at the Mission on 27th Avenue any day between 9 and 5.

If its the economy-well then they should point that out to City Council, since they think all is well and money is no problem.
