The public will decide the best use for a former golf facility in Okanagan Landing. City council will get input on if the Lakers clubhouse and parking lot should be sold by the city and used for low density housing, or turned over to a community group to use. Councillor Patrick Nicol was opposed to the motion, feeling there should be a third option. "Long term green space. I know we purchased a lot of lakefront there over the years, but for me it's just about the green space. I think the neighborhoods that will be raised around there, that will become a pretty handy little spot to have." Mayor Wayne Lippert says the rest of the former golf site will be preserved as natural area.Councillor Bob Spiers would like to see the land sold for development, as people in that area don't want a service group to take it over. "We went through that about two or three years ago. The people out there spoke pretty loudly and clearly that they didn't want a service type club out there, so why revisit an issue that's already been decided." Residents along Cummins Road said they didn't want the traffic, noise and alcohol problems that kind of usage could bring.

Build a new sewage treatment plant out there.
