The plug may not get pulled on Greater Vernon backyard swimming pools afterall. G-VAC chairman Wayne Lippert says he's urging NORD staff to allow people a grace period to fill their pools, despite the stage 3 restrictions. Lippert says it appears there was a communication problem between the politicians and staff when the rules were crafted. He says they thought the issue'd been adressed considering they probably couldn't be refilled due to evaporation, later in the year. Lippert is recommending a special meeting of NORD be held to make the change. A number of pool owners, as well as pool maintenance and building companies, have complained about the rule.

Interesting. If backyard pools are important then what about turf farms, garden centres etc. I wonder if hotels, motels and Sparkling Hills made representations to our apolitical Mayor? What else will be exempt from the general restrictions?
What a pile of garbage-I guess some influential people have bent his ear
