Is this just a suggestion (GVW recommends we boil water), or a watered-down version of the Boil Water Order which was previously used?
I get the impression that Greater Vernon Water is doing the absolute minimum they can to inform the public of unsafe water, while at the same time trying to not frighten any tourists away from this area.
What is more important, the health and safety of the people who live here year-round, or a few tourist dollars which line only a few pockets?
If the water is not safe to drink, Greater Vernon Water should say so. I can hardly wait for the lawsuits when someone dies because they did not follow the Boil Water Notice "suggestion" to boil water.
What would be really handy for Vernon area residents would be a map that shows who is actually served by the Duteau water system? Its fine to tell people there is a water problem, but it doesn't do any good if they don't know where it is!
