Fight HST leader Bill Vander Zalm says his group has drafted a list of 24 Liberal MLA's it will target for recalls starting in November, and the second name listed on the protest group's website is Pat Pimm. Latest Fight HST numbers show 8,195 Peace River North signatures on the anti-tax petition, about 242 percent of the required of number of eligible voters, by Elections BC. Based on that signature percentage, it also puts the local riding in the top six across the province, and all the MLA's on the Fight HST hit list represent ridings where at least 25 percent of the voters have signed the petition. All 85 provincial constituencies have now exceeded both the Elections BC threshold of 10 percent, and the Fight HST internal threshold of 15 percent. In terms of total signatures, the petition is now nearing the 700,000 mark and Mr. Vander Zalm, the former Socred Premier, is confident he'll have that many before he delivers it to Elections BC one week from today.
He says no decision has yet been made on the order in which the MLA's will be targeted, but he does say Premier Campbell is no longer the prime candidate. He argues there's still a good possibility the Premier will resign before his third term expires and his group feels making him the primary recall target would therefore be a waste of time and resources.
