Officers shut down drug operation

Yesterday morning members of the Community Response Unit executed a search warrant for drugs on an apartment in the 3700 block of 28A St in Vernon. The search of the residence found a quantity of Cocaine, Heroin, Marihuana, cash, scales, as well as further drug paraphernalia. Many of the drugs that were seized in this investigation were already packaged for sale on the street. Two males both 22 years old of Vernon were arrested for possession for the purposes of trafficking. The third person a female 18 years of Vernon was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The two men have been released on conditions by a justice of the peace last evening to appear in court on June 24th. The police are continuing their investigation into this drug operation. There were other suspected drugs located during this search that will need to be sent to our Crime Lab for analysis. Further charges could result after the analysis has been completed and police are able to determine what it is.
