A refurbished greenspace will be unveiled in Vernon Tuesday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at Spirit Square, between city hall and the museum, at 11 a.m. “I am very pleased with the results of the project,” said Mayor Wayne Lippert. The project’s budget is $667,000, with $250,000 coming from the provincial government. Among the design components of the park are a water feature, walkways, seating areas and gardens. Spirit Square celebrates the city’s history, with a representation of the Grey Canal and interpretive panels related to agriculture.

Looks like a waste of $600,000 to me-especially in these tough economic times. Certainly don't see what makes this a "spirit square" Typical City of Vernon nonsense.
