Attempted armed robbery in Vernon

The RCMP are now on the hunt for two suspects in an attempted armed robbery in Vernon. Mounties say the two men went into the Pet Mart on 44th Avenue around 5pm on Friday and took out a weapon, demanding cash. But the employee refused to give up the money, and the suspects left empty-handed. No one was hurt in the incident. Both men are described as caucasian, 5'9", average builds, and wearing dark clothing that covered their faces. One man was wearing a dark backpack at the time. They were last seen running northbound on 28th Street in Vernon. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP or Crimestoppers.
