VICTORIA – The Province is supporting improvements to local cycling infrastructure by making $500,000 in funding available to B.C. communities through the BikeBC Cycling Infrastructure Partnerships Program, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Shirley Bond and Health Services Minister Kevin Falcon announced today.
Funding of up to $100,000 is available to individual municipalities for a wide range of projects, such as bike lanes, separated bike paths and multi-use trails. As part of the selection criteria, applicants must describe how a project will contribute to increased physical activity as part of a municipality’s active community plan.
