An estimated 300 surveys on what to do with Polson Park were filled in last week during Canada Day celebrations. City planner Kim Flick says there was a lot of interest in the two options drawn up by a landscape architect. She says some people had concerns about the road system and the track being taken out as well as accessibility. There were also calls for more family-oriented attractions in the park. "It was wonderful to see how many families worked together to fill out that survey - with very young children talking about what they loved and teenagers getting involved with how they'd like to see the park and it's great when you can see young people mobilized to participate." Flick says that once the chance to fill out a survey ends on July 9th, the information will be forwarded to the architect who may incorporate certain ideas into her designs. She says staff hope to have recommendations to take to council and the regional district board by late August or early September.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
