Some Vernon area motorists had to endure a detour after a natural gas line was ruptured in the BX this morning. BX Swan Lake fire chief Bill Wacy says it was caused by a homeowner accidentally hitting the line with a small backhoe in the 63 hundred block of Pleasant Valley Road around 11:30am. He says they had to block off about a three kilometre stretch of the road and wait for Teresen Gas to bring in a crew from Kelowna to shut it off. Wacy says the homeowner was very embarrassed by the incident.
