Circuses with exotic animals will still be able to perform in Vernon. Council decided not to pass a bylaw banning animals like lions, tigers and elephants, as some other communities have done. The majority of council felt there was already other levels of government providing adequate regulation on the issue. Councillor Buffy Baumbrough felt more action was needed. She says cruelty concerns had her supporting the ban dealing with circuses, but council feels there's already enough regulation. It was also noted circuses can circumvent city bylaws by storing the animals in other municipalities.

THANK YOU! Now how about council focus on the task they were voted in to do instead of adding more bylaws to the ones that are already not enforced anyway
