A large marijuana grow operation near Falkland has been shut down by RCMP. Police, assisted by members of the SouthEast District’s drug unit, combined forces special enforcement unit and North Okanagan Traffic Services, executed a search warrant in the 6000 block of Six Mile Creek Road in Falkland. Officers arrested two people shortly after entering the property. A 34-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman with addresses from Falkland and the Lower Mainland were returned to the police office. The search resulted in some dried marijuana and 3,993 plants being seized from the property. More than 3,000 of these plants were clones. Investigating officers believe that this operation was largely set up to produce clones from mother plants and then be sold or moved to other operations elsewhere. Both people are expected to face charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking and production under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
