Okanagan RCMP detachments were alerted Wednesday night after an incident in the parking lot of Vernon's Fruit Union Plaza in which a 52-year-old Coldstream man was allegedly punched in the face and then had a gun pointed at him. Kelowna police, provided with a license number and description, picked up a suspect following the encounter which is said to have been sparked by the victim accusing a younger man of following two women. A 30-year-old Kelowna man is expected to appear in a Vernon courtroom Thursday to face charges of assault, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order and uttering threats.
